Pierre Turgeon, Hockey Hall of Fame (Inducted 2023)

“You have two minutes before your next shift. Your mindset, what are you thinking? Do you think about your mistake, are you afraid of making a mistake going back on the ice? No! It’s done. You’ve got to process, learn from it, and move on. And then you’re thinking about your next 30-40 seconds. So you don’t think about anything else than just that. Stay in that moment.

Dave Carle

Univ. of Denver Head Coach

Zach’s Conversation with Dave Carle begins at 14:45 after getting into “the Zone” with a warmup exercise.

“Find little things… It could be really small. [Work] with them on their mental toughness and their ability to get through those moments of adversity, and understanding it’s a really good thing for their longterm development. It’s going to allow them to level up on people, the more practice they have and the more proficient they are with it.”

Dave Carle, Denver Pioneers’ Coach (NCAA DI), giving his best advice to Parents of Elite Performers

Ryan Cruthers

Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL)

Q+A with Ryan Cruthers begins at ~18:00.

Ryan Cruthers, Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL - Jr. A)

“What we look for is culture drivers… It’s body language, it’s work ethic, it’s attention to detail. As you start to get older it’s a little bit harder to change mindset… Right now, what you are doing with Zach, and how you’re developing between the ears, is the most important thing. I wish I had something like this because it’s not easy. It’s actually something you need to practice and work on.”

Leadership Patterns & Habits

Zach takes the group through a warmup exercise and overview that creates “the Zone” — an ideal state for elite performance — in anyone who practices it.

Zach Bloom, Elite Performance Coach

Performance = Potential - Interference

“If you can measure it, you can manage it.” - Tony Robbins

One of the gifts of the human mind is our ability to measure things. When we measure the following three items, we not only improve our potential and identify and reduce interference… we begin to transform into our best selves.

Integrity = Practice Habits (Skills)

Impact = Big Game Performance (Mindset)

Influence = Making Others Around Me Better (Heart)
